The biceps is attached to a meniscus in the shoulder and, as with everything else, can wear, detach, and cause discomfort and a click when raising the arm. Beyond conventional imaging, the shoulder's interior is better evaluated using arthroscopy.
Problems with the long head of the biceps are also treated using arthroscopy, by repairing it at its attachment point (labrum repair or SLAP) or by attaching it to another tendon or to the bone (tenodesis of the long head of the biceps).
