Introduction

After graduating from Université de Montréal in physiotherapy in 2004, Dr. Schlader decided to pursue his studies in medicine. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2008, graduating with honours, and a Graduate Diploma in orthopedic surgery in 2013, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List for academic excellence.

Specialities

Dr. Schlader has distinguished himself in Quebec as a specialist in complex procedures such as reverse shoulder replacements, glenohumeral resurfacing, Latarjet procedures, and superior capsular reconstruction, for which there is currently a shortage of experts. Dr. Schlader has been invited to speak about these complex surgeries as well as revision surgeries following failed initial procedures at conferences throughout Quebec and across Canada.

Influenced by his background in physiotherapy, Dr. Schlader uses a multidisciplinary approach in treating musculoskeletal conditions and, when possible, encourages alternative options before opting for surgical intervention. When surgery is necessary, he favours the least invasive surgical procedures.
