Achilles tendon repair

Chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon, either above or at the attachment of the tendon on the heel bone, can be incapacitating. Physiotherapy, immobilization, and anti-inflammatory medications will often help this to resolve. If ever it does not, surgery to clean the tendon and remove any bony prominences can be performed.
